Adeyemi D. Adeoye

PhD student at IMT Lucca

I am a PhD student at IMT Lucca in the Dynamical Systems, Control, and Optimization (DYSCO) research group under the supervision of Professor Alberto Bemporad.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 2016 from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria. I obtained a master’s degree in Mathematical Sciences in 2018 from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), Cameroon, and in 2021, another master’s degree in Machine Intelligence through the African Master’s in Machine Intelligence (AMMI) program at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), Rwanda.

research interests

My research interests cover topics in applied mathematics. Currently, I am working on second-order (numerical) optimization methods for training (recurrent) neural networks with applications in identification and control of dynamical systems.

Jul 6, 2022 Attending the Eastern European Machine Learning Summer School (EEML2022) as a participant from 06 to 14 Jul 2022. I was accepted to present a poster (see extended abstract here).
Mar 23, 2022 Attending SciMLCon ‘22 - A conference on Scientific Machine Learning with the Julia Language.
Feb 28, 2022 Will be attending the 5-day “LMS Invited Lectures on the Mathematics of Deep Learning” hybrid event from 28 Feb to 4 Mar 2022. Most lectures will be given by Gitta Kutyniok (LMU, Munich). More details here.
Feb 17, 2022 Attending a 2-day “Introduction to the Julia Programming Language” online workshop by Michael F. Herbst. Details here.
Dec 14, 2021 New manuscript (with A. Bemporad) on a new second-order optimization algorithm uploaded to arXiv. Also useful for training overparameterized neural networks models.
